3.       Member News

  • Our very own Barbara Thompson, president-elect of NSA Pittsburgh, was featured as the expert in weight loss surgery in the April 9th, 2007 People Magazine.  It’s on the newsstands now and you have to get it!  The article is called, “Trading One Addiction for Another.”  It starts on page 60 and Barbara is mentioned in the first sentence and quoted at the end of the paragraph.

  • NSA Pittsburgh member, Eddie Leigh will appear on the Discovery Health Channel Show, Mystery Diagnosis.  The show focuses on his medical nightmare story.  He was chronically sick for 2 1/2 years only to be told by his doctors he was fine.  He switched doctors, who ultimately discovered he was seriously ill.  He also makes his acting debut, playing himself in flashback scenes.  Tune in on:

    ** April 15, 2007: 6:00 PM EST, 5:00 PM CST, 7:00 PM MST, 6:00 PM PST).

  • Congratulations to Joanne Sujansky!  Joanne Sujansky, PhD, CSP, became a grandmother for the first time!  Her daughter, Cara, blessed her with a grand daughter, Lucianna Olshanski!

  • Anne Obarski, past president of NSA Pittsburgh, presently resides in St. Louis, where she is now on the Board of Directors of that NSA chapter.  On 2-15-07, Anne became a grandmother for the first time.  Her daughter, Meredith Obarski Gray, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Addison.
