How to Write and Deliver a Dynamite Speech

Are you ready to make the shift from PowerPoint to Power Person? Would you like to know the winning secrets to writing and delivering a speech that professional speakers use to make $10,000 per speech and more? Now you can.

Great speakers combine power, presence and poise with practical ideas. They make you laugh and they make you think. They don’t just convey information—they convey hope. They are great because they connect.

2.       Incredible year ahead…

Barbara Thompson and David Goldman have pulled together a phenomenal year for NSA Pittsburgh.  You won’t want to miss one meeting!  Check out who is coming to Pittsburgh this year at http://www.nsapittsburgh.org/calendar.htm.

3.       Share the wealth

Nancy Mramor and Bob Courson, your membership chairs, have thrown a challenge your way.  Here is the excerpt from the letter you recently received in the mail.

The Membership Committee is extending a membership growth challenge to all members; to have you introduce two (2) guests to NSA Pittsburgh, before the end of 2006, by inviting them to a meeting.  They will attend at the member fee for their first time.

When your guest registers for a meeting, please be sure that:

  • Your guest registers with the member button at www.NSAPittsburgh.org
  • Write MEMBER/GUEST and the person’s name who invited them in the special instructions box of the on-line shopping cart (ex. MEMBER/GUEST Bob Courson)

This outreach effort is intended to provide an opportunity for guests to gain knowledge regarding the value of NSA Pittsburgh membership and experience the great programming that is always offered.

Someone introduced you to NSA Pittsburgh.  Why not do the same for someone else?

Who have you invited?

4.       CPAE in NSA Pittsburgh

In Orlando this July, NSA Pittsburgh’s very own Craig Karges was inducted into the CPAE Hall of Fame.

In Feb.1977, the National Speakers Association (NSA) established the Council of Peers Award for Excellence Speaker Hall of Fame to honor professional speakers who have reached the top echelon of platform excellence.

Admission into the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame is a lifetime award for speaking excellence and professionalism. Inductees are evaluated by their peers through a rigorous and demanding process. Each candidate must excel in seven categories: material, style, experience, delivery, image, professionalism and communication. The award is not based on celebrity status, number of speeches, amount of income, or volunteer involvement in NSA.

To date, 178 men and women have been inducted into the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame. Up to five new inductees are named each year at a gala celebration held in conjunction with the NSA National Convention.

If you’ve ever met Craig or had the honor of seeing him perform, you know the honor is well-deserved.  You can drop Craig an email at ckarges@craigkarges.com.

Congratulations, Craig!

5.   WE NEED YOU!

Your NSA Pittsburgh experience depends on how much you put into it.  If you’d like to volunteer to be on a committee in an area that appeals to you, please contact any of the board members (http://www.nsapittsburgh.org/contact.htm).  Remember, the more you give, the more you get.

We wouldn’t ask if we didn’t need you!

Here’s to the best NSA Pittsburgh year ever,

Patty Kreamer
